PLEASE READ FULL LISTING – Tons of details and specifics, and only TWO S&W Models produced that will use these parts (regarding the Hammer) Up for sale is a Fine overall condition pair of Vintage S&W J-Frame Color Case-Hardened Hammer and Trigger Assemblies – and also included is the original 3-Pin Hand, that originated from a well cared-for Model 38 «Bodyguard Airweight» No Dash revolver. The source revolver was a very early Model 38, with the «Flatlatch» Thumbpiece (and also see information below regarding the Hammer Base type). The two Assemblies and the Hand in this Listing are being sold as a set, as they were originally installed together on the SAME source revolver: Many of these older, machined/forged parts were final hand-fitted and tuned at the factory to optimize operation of the components … and for the sake of the discerning buyer who seeks the integrity of a factory paired Hammer and Trigger, with the Hand as well, we’d prefer NOT to break the components apart from one another! To confirm, what’s included in this listing is as follows: – J Frame «Bodyguard» Semi-Spurless Hammer Assembly, Fine Overall Condition. The Assembly has the .240″ Semi-Spurless Hammer Spur, Color Case-Hardened finished Steel, with Floating Hammer Nose. All the integrated components of this Assembly function as they should. Handling marks are light – only a minor amount of wear and signs of general use are present on the sides/tip of the Hammer Nose, as well as the sides of the Hammer Body itself that is normal from general use as the Hammer pivots in the Frame. There is no evidence of any pitting or corrosion on this Assembly. **** PLEASE NOTE **** This Hammer can only be installed on the earliest Model 38 No Dash and 49 No Dash revolvers that have a «Ball Socket» Hole in its base, which accommodates a Hammer Spring Rod (Stirrup) with a «Ball» Head, as opposed to the later style J-Frame Hammers that had a «Slot» in the bottom/base of the Hammer Body, that accommodate a «Claw Type» head on the Hammer Stirrup Rod. Finally, this Hammer WILL NOT WORK in any newer / current production model J-Frame revolver that has the MIM / Metal Injected Molded Hammer.) – J Frame Trigger Assembly, Very Nice Overall Condition. The Assembly has the .240″ Width with Grooved Face, and Color Case-Hardened finished Steel. Some light / minor handling marks are present but the Trigger is nearly free of any objectional dings or defects. Please Note – there is a very slight impression on the grooves in the face of the trigger, roughly in the middle of the serrations, about halfway up the length of the grooved-face. Again, this is relatively faint, but we do want to make sure it’s disclosed – examine the photoset closely. With that said, all the integrated components of this Assembly function as they should. (As for compatibility, make sure to ONLY use this Trigger on Models that would be inclusive of the same models compatible with the Hammer in this listing… Any questions on cross-compatibility, simply send us a message and we’ll respond promptly.) – J Frame Hand, 3-Pin Type, Normal Thickness. (This Hand is NOT cross-compatible with the Modern J-Frame Revolvers, either.) Priced per condition, and relatively scarce availability as these parts have been out of production for roughly 50 years.
