Hello NeXT community: This listing is for a NeXT compatible sound card by Brian Archer NeXT hardware guru upon high has come trough for us again . This is it a NeXT dual compatible SOUND CARD with ADB and Non-ADB NeXT components , Your NeXT Keyboard simply plugs into this and All NeXT Computers will NOT work with out a Sound Card. This is what you need, yeah no more guessing 🙂 NON ADB Works for all NeXT 68K Computers that means NeXT Workstations and NeXT Cubes If your keyboard is NON ADB Rectangular Keyboard and mouse and then it plugs in to the Sound Card Mouse plugs into the keyboard +++ ADB is Supported only if your NeXT computer is compatible with ADB hardware . This means Original NeXT Monitor Cable parts numbers must begin with a 4534, 4535 or 4536 The Motherboard has to be a Turbo Motherboard with 4 simm slots 72 pin simms NOT 8 or 16 30 pin simm slots The Turbo Motherboard must have a V74 Rom chip and NO you can not use a V74 rom chip on Earlier non adb systems (we tried) NeXT Keyboards have a green power button and round mouse. If you have the adb NeXT unicorns as in NeXT Turbo Chip set v74 and NeXT Unicorn cable then it will work that means turbo colors ,mono turbo and turbo cubes with V 74 Rom chips …. Please note Turbo Systems with Earlier V70, 71,72, and 73 Roms do not work. I can burn V74 Roms by the way $35 (these only work in ADB NeXT Hardware:) NU I/O Sound Box also features, A stereo chip and when you plug in your powered speakers boom it sounds great original NeXT Sound cards were only mono. It does not have a Microphone, you can plug in a DSP microphone equivalent of finding Pegasus , no we don’t have one. However if you are interested, in Cool Bling for your NeXT; I sell DUAL Custom Compatible Cables on my eBay store for both NeXT mono $74.95 and color systems $84.95, yes this means you can hook up flat panels to your Cubes and Stations with my Custom Y cables I also sell very nice NeXT compatible Black 19″ flat panel monitors that 5:4 aspect ratio, synch on green , 1280 by 1024 resolution with or without a NeXT Compatible sound bar with $149.95 or with soundBar $169.95 ….. so it is a nice solution and they are tested and work Sound card, cable and flat panel and soon we will have an USB to NeXT NON ADB peripheral adaptor 🙂 So no more searching for really hard to find original NeXT stuff to make your NeXT Computer work !
