Bringing the past forward through the re-purposing of vintage table linens and handkerchiefs! ***Perfect for your decor, kitchen or bath, these towels have toppers created from vintage Christmas tablecloths. The toppers are reinforced with woven interfacing and have a loop-over tab and snap closure. They can be hung on stove or cabinet handles, or even a towel bar. The backs of the toppers are coordinating cotton prints. The all-cotton towels have a waffle weave that makes them great for drying hands or surfaces. They have been pre-shrunk and are machine washable and dryable. The towels measure 18 1/2″ long from the top of the fold to the hem. Both pretty and practical! These handmade items are created from vintage table linens and handkerchiefs that have been used and loved in their former lives. After the search for and discovery of the tablecloths and other items at estate sales and the like, I carefully wash, press and examine them to plan how they can be used. While I have done my best to cut around holes, snags and stains, there may be some signs of wear which is characteristic of vintage textiles. Remember that some of these fabrics are 70-80 years old (from the 1940’s and 1950’s!) and were often items used on a daily basis, so the occasional minor slub or very light stain validates its unique vintage roots! *All fabrics are cotton or linen, and all have been pre-washed for shrinkage and colorfastness. *All seams are stitched and serged.
