Hey guys, as with all of my electronics sales this comes with No Warranty. There is No Refunds. No Returns. This unit is being sold as «For Parts or Repair.» Up for your consideration is my Pioneer SX-980. Please read the entire description. This has been sitting unplugged for about a year and a half. I was thinking that it wasn’t working right when I first got it so I just sat it to the side inside a clean spare bedroom in our house. I tried it out again this past weekend. Selling it as a used and mostly working vintage stereo system. Should be clarified that this is listed as «For parts or repair.» I've been listening to this for a few days in a row now. What I’ve noticed is some oxidation in some of the buttons, and levers. After working it out for a little while, both channels make quality music. This unit looks to be very original inside or it has been a very long time since it has had any service. I see no new looking parts anywhere inside. I even left the dust inside the case to show the true, as is condition as I bought it in. There has been no oil, wax or any other product used on this beautiful walnut cabinet. There are dings on the bottom rear of the cabinet. See photos. I left all of the dirt and residue on everything. No spit shine here. Just, as is/where is type of deal. I own a lot of pioneer equipment and this is the first ones of this model that I’ve ever had. I did have an SX-880 for a long time, years ago. This SX-980 is visually taller than the SX-880. You may have just stumbled onto a deal. This unit sounds pretty good even running a standard set of Pioneer CS-77 speakers. Thinking I might hook up some higher quality vintage, like the HPM100s that I also put up for sale. Remember, not big power but Class A/B power. The tuner dial does indicate very close to actual local stations FM frequencies. It does show the stereo light on when it is dialed in. No LED bulbs where incandescent lights have always lived. Great Vintage glow from the tuner. On the Tuner, the Stereo light does light up. You can clearly hear when you get it dialed into Stereo. This is being sold as a single stereo amplifier that may need some switch cleaning. . Start your vintage audio experience on classic, Silver Faced, Pioneer. Hook up your little turn table. Add your hookup for your iPhone or RCA from your TV. This is a seriously cool setup for minimal money. I have not tried to hook up headphones to the jack on the front. I took these photos the day of listing so you can see the condition. Very presentable. It's a great little unit. Fluoroscan systems are my favorite but analog black faced VU meters that this has is pretty sweet. The end of the best era of Pioneer, in my opinion. Original factory wiring schematic is included.
