These are new old stock USA-made stainless-steel toggle-action tube retainer clamps made by EG&G Birtcher in the USA. These are the most secure, positive holding tube clamps in the world. Most of us are familiar with the larger size of these used in the classic Ampeg SVT amps. These are the much rarer type made for 6L6-sized tubes. We had a few thousand of these made for us in 1987 when we started production of our first amplifier model. We don’t use them in our current models, so we are selling them off. Needless to say, they are as expensive as they are rare. If you are building a tube amp and want the best possible parts for it, then these are for you. If you are upgrading an old amp, especially one with the tubes hanging upside-down from the bottom of the chassis, then these will dramatically improve the security of your tubes. These will work with any tube that has the same diameter base as a 6L6 (1 3/8″ or 35mm). This includes 6LG, 6L6GA, 6L6GB, 6L6GC, 5U4GB, and many others. There is some adjustment in the diameter possible by squeezing or expanding the «bump» in the loop. This bump is there to provide springiness and a little bit of adjustability in the diameter. Needless to say, they will not work on the «wafer-base» 5881 tubes from Sovtek. The vacuum tube shown in photo is not included. It is just there to show how they fit a 6L6GC. The sale is for a single unit. If you want multiple units, you have to select the quantity you want. They are 100% guaranteed by us. If one arrives damaged, we will replace it. The item will be packed in an oversized, strong box, with ample padding between the item and the shipping carton.
