This is a used central locking pump from an Audi A4 with an upgraded graphite pump. Part number 8L0862257N aka 8L0 862 257 N. I’ve tested this in my own Audi by installing it, programming it to recognize remotes, verifying that it connects to VAGCOM, verifying it operates the windows & interior lights properly, verifying several other functions this unit performs, and is in A+ condition. All functions are guaranteed to work well. (I reject about 1 out of 4 that I test due to some type of electronic flaw. That should give you an idea of the odds of getting a good used one that hasn’t been thoroughly tested.) This part will work in Audi A4 from 1998 to 2001 and in S4 approximately the same years. It will work in Audi A8 from 1997 to 2002. Please verify the part number on yours if you have any questions. I’d be happy to program the module to any of the option codes you specify. I’m willing to program the module to recognize your remote(s) if you send it to me. I also have a limited number of good used remotes available that I offer to sell & program to the control module being sold in this listing as a matched pair. $50 extra for one of these remotes. I also have some of the wiring harness connectors with 8 to 12 inches of wiring available for an extra $25. Please ask if you’re interested in adding either of these items to your order. Why an upgraded graphite pump? The OEM pumps are a graphite vane-rotary type pump with a 6mm thick impeller. The impellers wear out and shatter. I’ve talked with guys who have purchased multiple OEM pumps from eBay or other sources, just to have the pumps blow up again in a few months. The impeller in my upgraded pump is 50% thicker (9mm). The 3rd photo in my listing shows the internals of the OEM (on the right) and my upgraded pump (on the left). I sell the replacement pumps separately; see eBay item # 202912681651. I guarantee those for 6 months. I offer a 14 day warranty. Why just 14 days? Given that one of the most common problems with these pumps is fried electronics due to water intrusion into the trunk, we want to make sure you get a good part to get your door locks working again, but we don’t want to take the risk of the part failing due to other problems your car may have. We think 14 days should be enough time for you to install and test the part. If you do have water intrusion problems then please solve that issue before installing expensive electronic parts in an area where they’re getting wet. Look carefully at the rubber seal between the trunk lid and body, and at the seals around your tail lights. Water can also get in through the seal around the rear window if it’s damaged. I don’t refund or pay for return shipping. This part is marked and sealed, and no refunds will be given for parts returned that have been disassembled, modified, or not in original condition.
