Item’s Code: LA-2457 ABOUT: Very rare and unique, limited edition, 1870, second ever publication of Catholicos Abraham of Crete’s «Chronicles», one of the few non-Persian primary sources on the History of Nader Shah and the Transcaucasia region in 1734-1736. Abraham III of Armenia (Abraham G Kretaci)- Catholicos Abraham III (also Abraham of Crete or Abraham Kretatsi d. 1737) was the Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church between 1734 and 1737. Abraham G Kretaci was in close relations with Nadir Ghuli Khan (since 1736 was renamed Nadir Shah) and he reestablished the property laws of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and saved many Armenians from captivity and exile with his help.Nadir Shah allowed Meliq Hakobjanyan to establish provincial bank in Yerevan and make silver and copper coins with the mediation of Abraham G.
